Apologies for the dearth of posts this past 8 weeks. It is an interesting challenge to keep up posting on a blog while running a law firm and managing cases. But, we'll get it all figured out and begin to post more regularly.
In the meantime, we should post that we have new office space and new contact information where people can reach us.

In addition, we have a new firm brochure (tri-fold) that you can download, if you'd like to see one of our self-promoting pieces (the file size is quite large; be forewarned). We're very happy with it:

Denise and Mary;
Hooray for you all! you're in business with a brochure and all the trimmings.
Wonderful to hear from you.

Denise and mary:
I'm really having trouble getting a comment into your site.
I love your logo and am delighted that your law firm is up and running. I miss your posting and am very happy to see it come back.
You and Mary can do a lot of good for us. Wining cases is important but visibility win or lose can do nothing but good for the causes you are fighting for.

Thank you, Robin! I'm sorry you experienced difficulty with posting a comment. I forgot that I had turned on "moderate comments" and so I thought your comments were posted. Duh.
Anyway, we think we're doing good work. All of our clients are LGBT and most could not have afforded the fees or advance retainers that lawyers typically charge. We've got a couple of family law cases where the person was previously in a heterosexual relationship that produced children and their exes are now seeking to minimize their parenting time purely on the grounds of their sexual orientation and we've got an employment discrimination case that we're suing under the Eliott-Larson civil rights act (you may hear more about this one, depending upon how it progresses).
We're not making any money, but we are feeling good about what we do. :)

Would you be willing to post about the process, benefits and/or pitfalls of starting up a law firm that focuses on LGBT issues? I'm thinking about doing this in a very cold New England state after a couple years of working for a firm and doing contract work, and am curious if you had any insight.
