Lisa

Does anyone know the status of Michigan House Bill 4259? I cannot find any information since May 2007. This bill is very important to our family. Please help...

Sincerely,
Lisa

Denise

Lisa, I will respond to you separately by email. In the meantime, you should know that this bill has NOT yet (as of 12/31/07) become law. It was referred back to committee for a 2nd reading (routine) on 5/9/2007. It may well pass the House, but we don't have high hopes for it in the Senate (where a companion bill SB 666 has been introduced). Don't look for this to become law anytime soon.

We understand that it is important to your family; indeed it is important to many Michigan families. That is one reason we are so committed to doing everything we can to get it passed. We have written letters, we have traveled to Lansing to meet with various Representatives and Senators and we have met our own legislators here in their home districts. We encourage everyone to do so. If they hear from enough of us, maybe it will help drive this important legislation forward.
